Our Story

A testimony of resilience, faith, and light

Crookston Candles was born from love and carried forward through loss.

Before this business ever existed, my husband Dave and I shared a dream of building something meaningful together. We talked often about ministry, encouragement, and creating space for people to feel seen, supported, and reminded of God’s presence in everyday life. We didn’t know exactly what it would look like, but we knew the heart behind it.

When Dave passed away suddenly in April 2023, that dream didn’t disappear.

It changed.

The years that followed were some of the hardest our family has known. Grief, uncertainty, cancer, unexpected emergencies, and seasons where simply getting out of bed felt like an act of courage. In those moments, Scripture became my lifeline. When my strength failed, God’s promises carried me. When joy felt fragile, faith became my anchor.

Crookston Candles exists because we chose, again and again, not to stay down.

Today, I’m raising two young daughters while watching our older children step into their own lives, all while learning how to carry forward a legacy without the man who helped build it. This work is not just a business, it is a continuation of love, faith, and purpose.

Each candle we pour is created with intention.

Each scent tells a story. Each product has been inspired by something we’ve lived or by someone in our lives.  

They are a decision to say, “Life, you don’t get to steal my joy.”

Each candle is a reminder that even when life is heavy, goodness can still be shared.

This is the ministry Dave and I dreamed of, carried forward a little differently, but with the same heart.

With the support of our customers, friends, and community, we are able to continue this work, care for our children, and extend hope outward. We are deeply grateful to walk this journey alongside you.
